I make video games. Not good at art.
Ask me questions about Unreal Engine because it's my favorite thing.
Working on a physics driven sports game with hooks and remote mines using Mover and network physics in #ue5. Targeting a playable experience at 150 ping. Still have a long way to go but this is me playing as a client at the target latency. Pretty happy with the results so far. #gamedev

I was going through some of my old projects and honestly I think I was cookin' with chariot man jousting cart racer. Might have to fire this one back up.

My kid told me this was the best character I've ever made and I don't know how to take that.

I tend to rely on a lot of text and numbers to make up for my underwhelming art so I decided to try out some VFX for when you have high clutch.
If this looks like a basic niagara emitter with simple color scaling, it's because that is exactly what it is.

Been enjoying working on the AI for a card game that involves taking tricks. Nice to do AI that doesn't require movement for once :)

Added card sorting. Swap and insert.
Manual only. Auto-sort is for cowards.

I think the scale in Blender might have been off.

Also messing around with a first person knife fighting thing. Trying to see if I can use UE5 physics control components in place of hit react anims. Early testing is positive! Gonna need to tune some values but its pretty cool what you can do with minimal setup.

Been wanting the backboard to shatter for awhile so I threw that in the other night. I swap the glass with a geometry collection and apply some force to it. I also set simulate physics on the other parts of the backboard which are all separate static meshes.

I'm making a roguelite arcade basketball game and the players don't have heads.
