Same. Depending on social/familial stuff, my preference is to read that in one go on Christmas Eve, accompanied by fruitcake and cognac / panforte and grappa (Christmas in Tuscany has been one of my things). If I could get a decent pork pie, though…

Huh. I like Zelazny, but don’t recall that. If I read it, it would have been when I was a teen. I will check it out - thanks. Needed more as I am probably not doing Lord of the Rings this year - a holiday read for idiosyncratic / personal history read rather theme.

That and Terry Pratchett’s Hogfather are two that I read every year.

But I try to take it slow. I will aim to get a bit into Dark and then read the rest on the Solstice itself.
