Someone’s a little in need of a pet this morning. Ever such need has never been seen
A black and grey mid-sized hairy dog lies on top of my duvet and on top of me, lying prone and facing towards me. My legs stretch down either side as he has worked himself into a comfy spot. Ready to take a pat at any time, ready to leap up for breakfast, would also be keen for breakfast in bed just in case that ever should happen. A dog for all seasons. An appetite for all eatings. A need to be near that would break walls.

Looking over a black balcony railing across a road towards a high rise apartment block under construction. Almost centred in frame is the ground block steel framing of a large crane, showing red rust from salty air over its original blue paint. The building under construction is all grey scaffolding, grey concrete pillars and brown portraits orientated glass windows. Behind and seen through it is the bright yet grey/blue sky over the beach of surfers paradise. The apartments being built offer “6 star” luxury from approx 4.5 million$

A pic taken from the roadside of a group member arriving at court in Belfast using a vehicle that is a repurposed former RUC patrol van. The van still seems to have some of its extra fittings, such as of metal mesh or screen over the front windscreen and side windows. Turns it he is taking his morning pat very seriously as well

It’s a fucking hard day at the frontline office for some and don’t you forget it
Louie and Elmer, father and son (i think) are just flat out on the kitchen floor. Louie on his side, legs extended, Elmer on his front with legs out and head down as if he just landed. Both black dogs and Elmer has a bit of grey splashed through. Sunlight shines in spots around them. Floor is rimu Lino “planks”. The spot they’ve helpfully decided to land is conveniently the choke point out of the kitchen for me. Ever ready to watch for food or head out for a walk to the freezer for more food. Much pressure, so much to do.

This dog takes his last scratch of the day pretty seriously
Elmer, a dark salt n pepper gray staffie/bearded collie mix, possibly, has come up to bed for his last scratch of the day. He lies flat on all four and head upright, facing the camera with two front paws resting over the scratchers arm, possibly to ensure business is taken care of. The scratching is currently working on the side of his head, to Elmer’s approval

I got lucky, wife had arranged two groups to visit but they are all coming to ours this morning and this afternoon. Chances to catch up over coffee or kai, fire is on, dogs are chilling

Looking down at my gumbooted feet as I stand on top of recently turned compost. My shaggy black and grey dog sits in the bin with me, looking up at me with a bit of a sad and hopeful look, as if, “Go for walk, or eat now?” Picture out over the head of my shaggy black n grey dog, as he sits on top of some recently turned compost and looks towards my other black dog standing on a tired lawn beyond A low lying raised bed edged with red chimney bricks, compost spread across the green crop within. beside which my black dog looks at the camera as if, “Is this it?” A home compost bin made from pallet wood and fill to the brim with turned compost, a garden shovel and rake in front. Not much else to say other than at the end of summer that compost shocks be garden gold!
