NAL either but I doubt that’s correct. I think all of the wartime immunities for combatants require an actual ongoing armed conflict which doesn’t exist currently. And even if we were at war with NK I don’t think murdering civilians just because they might rat you out is allowed.

This is true. It’s compounded by the fact that tech people are fragile snowflakes who flee at the slightest whiff of anything short of fawning adoration and that becomes a self reinforcing loop.

Part of the rise of populism in the US is that a ton of folks (not entirely wrongly) feel like government does not deliver. Sometimes for electoral-organization reasons like gerrymandering. Sometimes for SCOTUS reasons. Sometimes for organization-of-government reasons. But that A5 again blocking it

The reason SCOTUS is a mess is directly because that is where constitutional change effectively occurs now, which created the political project to stack it. Countries with more flexible constitutions just don't have this problem.
