I just watched a powerful new Greenpeace film exposing how Eni – one of the world’s biggest oil and gas companies – is using the Winter Olympics and Paralympics to greenwash its climate damage. Watch and share the film, and add your name: act.gp/4k1d4CM

#birds#birdingwales First Reed Bunting of the winter coming to garden feeding station, numbers should increase from now. Winter Thrushes have been stripped the berries from my hedge and moved on, Starlings are present feeding in good numbers, despite their red listing.

#birds#birdingwales whilst eating breakfast yesterday I was entertained by a Red Kite flying around, this morning a Bittern flew past my window, a few minutes later a Sparrow Hawk dashing at the feeding birds. What will tomorrow bring?

Whilst looking at my feeders, today I was surprised to see 4 Red Kite wheeling overhead, the most I've seen together on Ynys Mon. Gone are the days of the annual Bird Group trip to Tregaron feeding station, Although I saw a group of 7 whilst on the A14 near Kettering.

bird#welshbirds# Llanbadrig again with Richard Arnold last Sunday, this time 2 young flew off into the sea despite the rough weather. Only 3 adults and 11 young remaining, several young very active, wing flapping and moving about, will probably leave soon.
October 7, 2025 at 9:29 AM
#birds#birdingwales Gannets again today at Ynysbadrig, now 20 young remaining. Richard Arnold and I reckon 13 have left, this equals the total we think for last year, so this small but thriving recent second Wales colony seems to be established despite the ravages of HPAI.

#birds#birdingwales Llanbadrig from the Dalai Lama's favourite seat with another friend, looking at Gannets on Ynysbadrig, 30 young in nests mostly black, we were again lucky to see one leave and land on the sea wondering if it will survive. We also saw about 10 Risso's including 4 jump together.
