Kit de Waal is an award-winning novelist of international bestsellers, activist, screenwriter, playwright and Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Leicester. She continues to mentor and champion emerging voices through her teaching and advocacy.

The Engagement and Learning programme at Gladstone’s Library is funded thanks to support from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (@SNFoundation) who believe that everyone has an equal, inalienable right to free access to knowledge and education.

They gave the students a virtual tour of the Library and answered questions about the Library as a tourist destination.

After a similar session last year, the students gifted the Library a piece of artwork which is displayed in the Gladstone Lounge.

Vital restoration work to our beautiful Grade 1 listed building's roof will be taking place from October 2025 to May 2026. There may be some disruption, scaffolding, additional noise and limited parking onsite during your visit. Please do get in touch if you have any questions.
