That almost brought tears to my eyes. There's so much reminiscent of the houses I grew up in, especially those stairs.

I love that jacket - what a great colour.

I was camping with a friend who suddenly said " I just poured sugar into my ear", while dozing.

At least the dog doesn't look like it's about to start drooling from the corner of its mouth.

We have a bell in those exact colours, and one of those with the indent on the side, in pink and silver. It was a bit broken, but as is was bought the year my oldest brother was born (1952), it was still used into the 2010s.

That's no reason why ordinary men can't be decent people. Make piggy the outlier, not an example.

I don't have any context for the image, but I'm guessing she's under vampiric hypnosis, not sleeping.
Going to sleep with candles burning is wasteful, & risky, with all that drapery about.

Mrs Thatcher apparently only slept about 4 hours in a night, I heard years ago. It was probably in relation to her showing how 'strong' she was, and how she managed to get everything done. It tied into the 'go-getting' yuppie culture of the 80's.

If 'exceptional hardship' is a valid reason for not stopping a dangerous driver, then governments have no justification for making it harder for the disabled to get Motability cars. Loss of one certainly makes life much harder all round.

I remember this one, especially those gorgeous tiles in the kitchen. My collection of vintage cheeseboard with decorative abstract tiles would go perfectly. As would most of the stuff in my current living room.
Why isn't this in Sheffield?, dammit.

The gentleman standing on the right, watching the bonfire, is probably planning to go to the pub later on, judging by the size of his beer belly.

Emo Phillips was great.
