i've written about this before, but we need better roads, better bike chargers, and better regulation with delivery apps to lower the speeds delivery drivers take. we shouldn't cap the type of transportation everyone is allowed to take.

this is really just another form of stop and frisk, as now nypd can potentially stop anyone without a license — typically delivery drivers who are immigrants and people of color. licensing does not actually increase bike safety — biking infrastructure does

and while it turns out that citibike was not in fact the getaway vehicle, what is concerning is the ongoing e-bike licensing legislation that might get passed in nycc on december 11

with help from @tensorbodega.bsky.social, i found that lyft publishes a live api endpoint you can call, with in addition to a specific token, you can use to get specific bike info to track where bikes are coming in and out of
