finished Eden of the East (show + 2 sequel movies) earlier. it's not very good, don't watch it. I think it's trying to be a Cory Doctorow-esque modern thriller but it falls flat in pretty much every aspect

alright, end of episode 2 and I'm feeling better about Accelerator. I think maybe they had a different art director or something because it feels like it's trying to go for the Index/Railgun artstyle but isn't quite getting there.

turns out there are visual novels that will show you Japanese and English text at the same time, and switch between them on the fly...this could actually get me to not only play games on PC but also to actually read a VN

Finished Last Exile 2 with my friend yesterday. I didn't really understand what happened because it's a much more politics-focused story, but I still liked it a lot. It's much more "anime" and much more 萌え than Last Exile 1, so it's neat to see similar concepts in different styles.

I guess there are some terms in English we tend to use in relative clauses very regularly: "proof that...", "evidence that...", etc, so seeing 「適温になった証拠 」 doing the exact same thing is interesting.

Having now watched 2 seasons of Magical Index (3rd is apparently dogass, rushed for a gacha) and all 3 seasons of Scientific Railgun, I can safely say that you should ignore Index and just watch Railgun. It features such elements as "character development" and "good pacing" which Index is lacking.

I suspected the issue was a stuck bit on one of the red pins, and I was basically right: the R0 pin wasn't soldered down well and the R1 pin might also have been poorly anchored. With this fixed I can display other colors, and images! (well, once I fixed the pixel ordering in formatter code)

The revision 2 Sharpie boards work! (see my website) Something's wrong with the signal timing so it can only correctly show colors that have red in them (for now just red, yellow, purple, and white). It looks a lot better in person, much more striking, but the viewing angles are pretty limited.

it's over, I just watched an "animals being scared by halloween decorations" compilation for 60 seconds straight without noticing the Sora watermark. the video quality was so good (or masked by the "security camera footage" style) that I didn't notice any AI artifacting

touchpad in my laptop (framework 13) started feeling sort of sticky, so I opened it up and found that one of the little tabs that limit upward vertical motion of the touchpad was sticking to the limiting surface, making the space between "you start pushing" and "the button clicks" feel very distinct
