It's genuinely such a fucking bizarre series when it comes to discussing combat because they just could NOT get it right and I'd argue it still isn't right but that's more of a symptom of how these games are too large for most sensible human beings now

AC2 combat letting you disarm enemies is cool but that doesn't provide you with anything that's useful other than an enemy who can be instakilled...which is what the hidden blade counter does.

Then they went and gave the hidden blade an attack combo which defeats the whole purpose of the thing!

Visually it also reminds me the most of Evergrace and Forever Kingdom in vibe. The contrast and multitudes of colour between the sky and environment is gorgeous

i personally counteracted this anxiety by making MORE mouth sounds to really throw people off

honestly though i bet the real reason i couldn't get into it was because my warrior of light sucked aesthetically. i'll need to spend 4 business days tinkering with the character creator if i do go back
