Not only are we losing smart, talented, hard-working people who not only contribute labor to our economy but $97 billion in federal, state, and local taxes annually. Beyond the humanity of losing fellow human beings to this violence, this admin is destroying the economy because *racism*.

This is just the beginning. Not only will fewer and fewer people choose to come here, but more people will choose to leave across all professions. Scientists, doctors, professors, domestic workers, farm workers, hospitality, construction. The economy will not function without immigrants and POC.

I personally don't tell people who have been fighting their hearts out daily for weeks not to celebrate wins of any size. I certainly don't do that when I've been nowhere near the place where the fight has been happening and have done little more than make some donations from miles away.

I no longer post on Insta but maintain my account and occasionally dip in to keep up with author friends' posts. Dipped in today and saw a bunch of "for you" posts of non-political accounts interrupting regular programming to say "F*ck ICE." Never seen this much of it before. Hopeful sign.

I just saw an ad for Botox w/ a 27 YO who says she's been using Botox "for a while now." There's a lot to he angry about right now, and an entire industry making $$$ off convincing women in their 20s that one of the worst things for a woman to have is wrinkles is definitely one of them. 😡
