This wee robin took a great interest in my turning over the compost bin. It landed right beside me and hunted spiders, earwigs, beetles, worms and various other creepy crawlies that I had disturbed. I suspect it is a juvenile, possibly even reared in my garden this summer.

My research into the crash of Flight 427 (still in print!) showed what a thin line separates air safety and disaster. With DOGE dismantling the FAA and NTSB that line is being erased.

A starling checks out the camera (and the accommodation) in our large nestbox in Balbriggan, Ireland, yesterday. Four youngsters were successfully fledged there last year and I had cleaned the box and the camera only the evening before this new potential tenant came prospecting.

Irish buff tailed bumble bee emerging from hibernation sunbathes to get energy to fly. Her only defence until she's warm enough is to threaten me with her sting while I take closeup.

From today's New York Times: "President Trump’s plan to take over Gaza, remove its two million Palestinians and turn the coastal desert strip into some sort of Club Med proves only one thing: how short a distance it is between out-of-the-box thinking and out-of-your-mind thinking."

It’s important to know that a lot of productive activity is happening in person and offline, too.

Not all of it can be broadcast online, but we’ve had hundreds of people showing up to our trainings, mobilizations, and more.

Keep going. Tyranny is eroded by a sea of small acts. Everything matters.

Eagerly reading David McWilliams fascinating history of money titled "Money: A Story of Humanity". His attitude to crypto currency mirrors my own. "Most of the crypto currency hype feels like little more than digital counterfeiting for the tick-tock age."

Britain's Daily Mail seems to be turning into a Trump supporter by saying Musk's Treasury takeover is no worse than Hilary Clinton's email controversy. Only following Murdoch's example by attending and salivating at a Trump press conference.

The late Charles Corr's famed Balbriggan hardware store, which has been closed for several years, is now finally up for sale. It is unlikely that it will ever reopen as a hardware store. It was the only place in North Dublin, and perhaps further afield, that one could buy gas mantles.

Worst windstorm in decades hit Ireland and the North of the UK yesterday. Hurricane strength winds in places. We got off relatively lightly here on the East coast, just north of Dublin. Some fence damage.

But don’t worry. Oklahoma is buying thousands of Bibles for their public schools.
