I was looking through my old work and decided to post a few. 1 and 2 are from grad school in 1998-2000, 3 is from my undergraduate years at the University of Tampa and 4 was also created during my grad program at MICA in Baltimore, MD.

I’m not good at soldering, but this is where I am on my screen mod for the Game Gear. It’s “done” but I think I still need to recap a bunch of the board because the screen keeps cycling through the aspect ratios. Everything should work fine.

This is the last political drawing I’ve made recently. And while it doesn’t quite cover all of the ground I wanted it to, it does reference some of the most glaring abuses of power and the most dangerous. So, I do feel it is worth sharing in its final form.

The No kings protest in NYC today was a success and I met some really nice people, as well. Below, I’ve posted a pic of my most recent political drawing with a few pics from the march.

Began this on Sunday in the park and finished it tonight. Titled it after my cat tried eating one of my game cartridges.

I played this over and over as a teen and was much better at it then than I am today. And even though it frustrates me today( because I now suck), I had so much fun with it. So, this game will always have a special place in my heart regardless of how bad I am at it currently. 😬

I remember, when Gaiares came out, the gaming media was in awe of the many visual effects offered throughout the levels on this splendid Genesis shooter. It’s gorgeous from beginning to end and can be punishingly difficult.

I’ve also been busy drawing, using a brush tip pen and a few other pens and inks. If anyone is interested in purchasing any of these, please let me know.

Star Wars Outlaws is fantastic on the Switch 2 and runs surprisingly well on the platform, even in handheld mode. It’s quite an amazing showcase for what the hardware is capable of. I also can’t help myself and take endless amounts of pictures in game. Such a gorgeous game!

I’ve been playing a few new games recently. Just bought Earthion last night and played it for a few hours. Love it. Feels great to play. Also tried the Mina the Hollower demo (thoroughly enjoyed) and been playing Starwars Outlaws. Each one extremely satisfying. Still also playing DK Bananza.

I still have my original copy and have managed to keep it in “like new” condition since buying it in the 90s. It still has all of the inserts - the manual and a survey which I found pretty amusing.

The game shares bits of locations remixed with new bits and new levels. It may be a little easy, but I do like the controls better than other versions of the TMNT arcade formula. And it looks wonderful on the hardware.

@retroblast.bsky.social recently posted about the Simpsons arcade and got me thinking of other popular beat em ups from the 90s. Konami took their time, but they eventually put a TMNT arcade style game on the Sega Genesis- that was effectively a remix of the two arcade games.

Here’s the copy I’ve had since I was a wee lad. Alex Kidd in Miracle World was one of my favorite games and I’m still a little sad that Sega abandoned Alex Kidd in favor of Sonic. Just a little, though as Sonic is a great character. In fairness, they did release an Alex Kidd game for the Genesis.

Just decided to play some Alex Kidd in Miracle World on the Sega Master System this afternoon. I used to be good at this. lol.

The game is both brilliant and incredibly goofy at the same time. Plays like a dream and all of DK’s transformations for some reason showcase his super defined buttocks - which my wife and I had a good laugh over. There is also a call back to TOTK in the way you enter the new areas.

Just like everyone else, I’ve been losing myself in DK Bananza and loving it. There’s so much hidden stuff placed throughout each area, that it’s really hard for me to advance in the game until I find just one more secret before jumping into the depths to the next area.

Having a ton of fun playing Cyberpunk, Mario Kart and enjoying the free patches Nintendo released for a bunch of 1st party games.

Been playing a lot of Switch 2 since launch and I have to say I am thoroughly impressed with the hardware and software.
