Milling around awkwardly on a sidewalk somewhere, which is mostly what we've seen, isn't so manifestly unlawful it can't be left to the courts and lawyers to sort out. An unlawful order to use force, to injure or kill people, is the core case where immediate on-the-spot refusal is your legal duty.

My vibes about the crime vibes issue are that it’s “pre-media”: when people who vote say crime they don’t mean crime, they mean visible disorder- visible homeless, teenagers who laugh at them, silly stuff like that. 1/2

OTOH, when I was designing a negotiations course for undergrads earlier this year, based on notes from one I took 25+ years ago as an MBA, one of the many changes that struck me was that in 1998 a large company combined CEO/founder/major shareholder was considered a rare exception.
