Every so often, I wish that I had very specific taste in movies so my viewing habits had any rhyme or reason.

That was my big takeaway—the tone policing was so out of hand! I’m amazed you stomached it as long as you did, but very happy that you got out of there.

I’ve read it twice now and “just ask nicely” still makes my skin crawl! Like, if I make a mistake, I am grateful when a colleague points it out. I don’t scold them, wth.

I have a top three for sure, but I feel like Heather Hendershot’s BFI Film Classics book for ‘Nashville’ reminded me that it IS possible to write about movies that feel so untouchable and it’s also just full of wisdom?? (I have a quote from it on my bathroom mirror. Haha)
