I wish I didn't have to enter an admin password every time an app needed to update... My work computer is "managed" so I have my regular account and then an elevated privileged account, and every time something needs an update, it requires admin permission. Is there a way to only require it once?

Pro tip: if you’re a PHP dev working on a Mac and you have Microsoft Defender installed (bc your work requires it, perhaps), add your project directory to the exclusion list and running composer commands will run exponentially faster.

This broken clock is correct - for better or worse speech that another country is considered hate speech is protected speech here. Figures MAGA would be the ones to try to introduce “hate speech” laws.

So I just watched @scishow.bsky.social's knitting video, the one that fiber artists are losing their minds over and trying to cancel @hankgreen.bsky.social for...
I'm sure there's inaccuracies and it's lacking in certain areas, but overall, I thought the video was interesting, and informative.

I spent a few hours yesterday optimizing some eloquent queries and model relationships in our system and got a batch request to go from over 1000 queries (uncaught N+1 problem) down to 12!
And also implemented some memoization to reduce gate / policy triggers from several hundred down to <10.
