I’m assuming it’s covered in the podcast, so if it is, you can ignore this. But what are your thoughts on Auburn’s recruiting class? More with the focus on how they manage to hold it together and or flip recruits.

I was buying art, albeit cheap art, when our income was below the median. Now I still buy stuff I like.

This but Auburn, I’m pretty sure Auburn still has players on the roster who were recruited by Gus Malzan, three coaches ago.

Flat fish would also work well. Halibut, flounder, etc.

Here’s some examples

Personally I’m a fan of the Grayling, arctic Char/Dolly Varden, Black or Yelloweye Rockfish, and the Lingcod.

I’ve got smoke alarms with 10 year batteries, so zero.

I hope not, but let’s see

Looks good on you

I tend to agree. Retaining him for one year gives the best chance to salvage the recruiting class and to retain the defensive players.

After the players get to know Golish and see winning 🤞 then they’ll be less likely to leave when he does.

It’s a shame that Verb isn’t very active anymore. He posted about his trip a couple of years ago and it made me bump Portugal higher on my list.

I hope he succeeds or fails spectacularly in the next year so either he gets a head coaching job away from my school or he gets fired
December 3, 2025 at 12:49 AM
He is very much a bend don’t break defensive camp and Golish wants attacking defense that causes negative plays. I have a feeling that this time next year Auburn will be finding him a soft landing spot.

Everything about his Maryland tenure was a broken system with lots of undesirable outcomes and ultimately leading to the death of a player.

Not blaming doesn’t mean that there are no accountability actions.
December 3, 2025 at 12:43 AM
A bit more on the blame and punishment comment. Traditional safety follows Name, Blame, Shame, and retrain. Safety2 is about learning and growing. You can’t learn and grow if you blame and punish. When you learn you can fix the broken systems that led to the undesirable outcomes.
December 3, 2025 at 12:42 AM
I’m not defending his coaching abilities, I think he’s merely a ok defensive coach, and I in no way wanted him as a head coach.

I was embarrassed when Auburn hired freeze, and just as embarrassed that they hired Durkin. I’m not sure his style will be compatible with Golish.
December 3, 2025 at 12:37 AM
I don’t like the association with a player dying on his watch, but I’m a safety person and read the investigation report through that lens. Blame and punishment are not as important as learning and fixing systems. I’m not happy that he is associated with my school but what can I do?
December 2, 2025 at 11:34 PM
I read the report and he came off only as adjacently responsible. It even said that they should retain him and not punish him. The school president and governor are the ones that decided that he needed to go. The board actually told the president that they’d fire him if he fired durkin.
