Yeah, I grew up in eastern MA to a sort of vaguely Christian family. I had to ask what religion we were when I was six and found out some friends were Jewish and some were various sorts of Christian! My mom’s answer was “well, we celebrate Christmas, so… Christian. Sort of.”

I’m deeply amused at how I- at 8- read all seven… and my family not being religious, I completely missed all the metaphor. In Last Battle I think I sort of understood that something was weird?

Portal was a godsend for 10 year old me. I kept buying* stuff from other sets- I think I remember some mirage in there? But Portal (and Portal Second Age) was the one we really used.

also the thing I've seen virtually nobody grapple with re: waste of money is that nickels are minted at even a larger loss relative to denomination, and this move means we need a whole lot more nickels now too.
