Been writing about games for a long time. Can't stop. Won't stop. Likes friendly people. Doesn't like bullies. LOVES dogs.
I remember growing up it was free if you used your own camera or paid if you wanted to buy a print. But the free option was absolutely there. And it was free if kids just wanted to visit w/Santa. No photo required.

BTW it is $10 at Best Buy or on eBay when sold by GRUV. Part of the Cyber Monday sale.

Violent Night is basically "drunk Santa gives up on humanity but gets inspired to rescue a little girl on his nice list from terrorists on Christmas Eve".

I saw it in the theater and it's fun. Jhon Leguizamo is the lead bad guy. A sequel is tentatively scheduled for 2026.

Still let me use my Best Buy reward certificate. 😁

And GRUV is legit. Never got the name, but I think they're owned by Universal.

Website. They've got a bunch of new releases on Blu for $10 and 4K for $13. A handful of Christmas movies are on 4K for $10. It's a Cyber Monday special.

Apparently, you can't use a $10 promo on a disc priced at $9.99. Congrats Best Buy, you made me spend money. Neither of us have seen the new Superman yet, so we opted for that one. Not a bad choice for $2.99 + tax.

"Strong Floors, No Ceiling!" sounds like something a personal trainer would be shouting at a class at the gym.

I've found that one speed upgrade is immediately necessary, followed by one or two missile upgrades. At least in the early game, missiles seem to be more useful than bullets. Learning strike distance/timing (so you can always use strike to hit a power up and get an instant strike refill) is helpful.

"how fast you can burn through your savings with one big medical disaster"

She's living in Switzerland, not America, so likely doesn't have to worry about healthcare. Another reason to demand single payer here in the US. Less financial precarity.

I thought Republicans were supposed to be all about "merit". I read Samantha's essay. It is grade school level at best. It wasn't anywhere near the level of a college junior. Just because you cite the Bible does not excuse poor writing. Why is TPUSA demanding a participation trophy for Samantha?

One final note. This works on Android phones and tablets, as well as iPad, but does not work on iPhones. iPhones cannot take UVC video as input.

The Game Capture 4K S uses USB-C to connect to PC. Instead of connecting it to a PC, connect it to the USB-C port on your Android device. Start a UVC capture app (I used USB Camera) and start playing/recording. Battery life will depend on your device/battery age.

Try searching on the serial: SLUS-90021. You can also try searching on the "Surrounding Your World with Sound" name. There's not much, but a handful of results will show up.
November 30, 2025 at 7:13 PM
Nope. Absolutely legit. Advanced Digital Systems Group (the developer) was part of Sony Pictures (not SCEA) which is why this has a SLUS serial instead of a SCUS serial. Disc predates the Xbox 360. It was distributed at E3 in 1998.

AFAIK this tech never shipped in a retail game so this demo disc is the only way to experience it on retail hardware. And yes, there is a (thin) manual. When I get a chance I’ll scan it for @mcconnell.bsky.social. Maybe he’ll read it on @instructionderby.bsky.social.

A tech demo with two minigames (Helicopter and Maze) which generate 8 channel sound and then mix it to stereo spatial audio for output. Sounds good on speakers, amazing on headphones. Disc is region coded NTSC U/C and rated E for Everyone. Anyone else have a copy? #RandomGameSaturday
