Using an old phone as a capture drive makes for a very small capture system. This #Sektori clip was recorded on a Samsung Galaxy S21 with an @elgato.com Game Capture 4K S then clipped with CapCut to fit BSky upload limits.

The whole capture setup is stupidly portable.

Spending all night going down a Wikipedia rabbit hole is a lost art.
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

Learning With AI Falls Short Compared to Old-Fashioned Web Search
In virtually all the ways that matter, getting summarized information from AI models was less educational than doing the work of search.

DSA SF is screaming right now. Dean Preston would never.
Soon small businesses won’t have to wait for Small Business Saturday to get attention from their Mayor.

Some changes that they can look forward to:

When did SEAL Team 6 become so weak?

Remotely killing helpless survivors?

What were they afraid of? Going to pick them up and confirming that they had just blown up a boat of migrants?

Guess it was easier to "kill them all" than to follow the law.

Hegseth order on first Caribbean boat strike, officials say: Kill them all
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a verbal order to kill all crew members in the Sept. 2 strike on a suspected drug boat. Navy SEALs fired a second missile.

Creating a military conflict with Venezuela gives this administration a legal "hook" to invoke the Alien Enemies Act. In other words, the foreign war is being manufactured in order to facilitate court deference for its domestic mass deportation policy. It's a Stephen Miller Special.

No one can manage a combined burn/compliment like little kid.
My nephew: Are you a girl or a boy?
Me: a boy, I used to look more like a girl but then I turned into a boy
Nephew: How???
Me: I went to the doctor and they gave me some medicine
Nephew: …
Nephew, bragging now: I’M a boy and I didn’t even HAVE to go to the doctor

If a YouTube video has "CHANGES EVERYTHING!" in the title, the creator is promoting something that's incredibly minor and probably not worth your time.

Melania has a boyfriend?

Way to bury the lede in that post.

Not a single person has argued this strawman.
While it’s probably true that housing costs are keeping people out of CA and NY, there’s this notion that middle America or the sunbelt will empty out and depart to Brooklyn if Brooklyn built more units, and I’m pretty sure the people who believe this all live in Brooklyn already
Will is totally I missing the rejoinder. Way more people would live in the Northeast and coastal CA if we allowed for abundant home building.

ICE deported a woman who owned a home in the US for 30 years. A judge banned ICE from deporting her to Sierra Leone where she had been tortured, so it deported her to Ghana, which kidnapped her and sent her back Sierra Leone anyway. ICE is part of this illegal conspiracy.

A Far Cry TV show?

I'm intrigued.

ESPECIALLY if they do a Blood Dragon style season.

Each season will feature a new setting and characters.

You are hereby reminded that Berkeley could have had Pixar. Steve Jobs wanted to specifically place Pixar HQ near the "creative and intellectual center of Berkeley." But at the same time Berkeley created the West Berkeley Plan to maintain little hobbit workshops instead of attracting real business.
Undoubtedly. Pixar, and the others. Look at my assessment density map. Emeryville sticks out for how many huge, valuable parcels they have.

Seriously though, this is AMAZING!

May not scale to something with Assassins Creed length credits (maybe they could do team descriptions) but this is great both for general knowledge and for future (historical) reference.
We did something different with the credits for Demonschool. We used this format: name, title, lengthy description of what they did. Often you see credits in games where you don't know what the credited developer was actually responsible for. We wanted to give people proper, actual credit.

Do kids today know that EA once shipped a PlayStation game with a pirated copy of the South Park pilot on it? The devs used it for disc padding. It passed QA and Sony cert with no one noticing. Not sure if they got a fine from the ESRB but a second pressing w/o South Park was released.

Often, press preview builds were just DVD-Rs with messy labels handwritten in sharpie. But sometimes the PR team would go all out, with disc art (printable DVD-R) that was better than the retail release.

Not the first to say it, but there should be a bipartisan call for a foreign influence investigation. Seems odd to have a major party driven by non-citizens. There's a reason foreign political donations are prohibited. That's a lot of free advertising over on X. What is the value of those services?
"This has all been especially painful for X users who are, as a baseline, extremely racist. And they are now suffering through the psychic torment of learning that users, predominately from the Global South, are behind some of the bigger right-wing accounts on the site."
