I create bad software for a living and even worse for fun 😎
I do not know enough about inputplumber to explain why or how. So I didn't try to see if the "fix" survived through restarts.

Turns out changing NativeInput doesn't affect the issues ...

I was wrong: For some reasons, starting inputplumber via systemctl, trying to start the game via OpenGamePadUI (which fails) and then stopping inputplumber, unplugging the controller, plugging it back in and then starting the game seems to fix it until the next system restart.

The linked thread and blog do not address this:

Display-name and profile-pictures of accounts can be changed at any time. Is the same true for manually verified accounts?

If so, would it revoke the verification status or just be open for abuse?

Not giving self-verified accounts checkmarks, while giving them to accounts who do not use a custom domain-handle feels counter-productive to the goal.

Yes, for technical users who understand how self-verification works it doesn't make a difference, but for everyone else it absolutely does!

I am very much so. But none of that would be visible to or shared with Reddit. And that was the question posed. Nothing else.

Yes, giving personal information where it is not absolutely necessary is always bad. But that is a different topic.

That is false. Youtube automatically enables that feature for channels and doesn't tell channel owners. They have to be made aware and turn it off manually. And yes, the titles are also automatically machine translated, which has been a thing for years.

If a third party tells Reddit "this account belongs to a human" Reddit won't have any new data about you, other than the knowledge that a human had control over the account at the time of the verification.

The posed question makes it seem whoever wrote this post hasn't read the article they linked.
