This is a great book on the intersection of gender and neoliberalism, and not unrelated to the far right.

"The American national security strategy echoes the language of far-right parties"

... well, maybe that's because ... it was written by ... a far-right administration...?

Today’s International Human Rights Day is the perfect day to plug this article by our former professor and head of department, which shows that restrictions on abortion rights are the canary in the coalmine, foreshadowing further erosion of physical integrity rights (a class of human rights).

Somebody call Scott Galloway

Standing in the cold eating overpriced food and drinking sugary Kinderpunsch, it’s almost like home 😂

Galloway constantly yaps about an "aspirational vision of masculinity" on various podcasts yet this is all he can come up with.

To me, his vision isn't necessarily more progressive, maybe just superficially less toxic (but still does nothing to break up gender hierarchies and men's dominant roles).

If only someone had an article under review on how the far right instrumentalises the welfare state to entrench themselves in power and undermine (liberal) democracy, and using Orbán's Hungary as one of the case studies...

A few weeks ago, we were thinking about going back to Europe pre-Christmas, but with the shutdown, FAA flight disruptions and me not wanting to spent another 3 days in a row stranded at ATL we scrapped those plans… and now we think taking a 67 hours cross-country roadtrip is a much smarter idea. 💡🚘

Whenever you think this can’t get any lower, Orbán proves otherwise.

Orbán is posting right-wing extremist tourism ads, and Austria’s most prominent right-wing extremist, Martin S., responds to this post with "Right decision." Well then.

November can actually be very pleasant if you’re not in continental Europe 🍁🍂

Latest polling from 🇦🇹 with the far right at 37%. But instead of claiming there’s no alternative to the far right dominating politics, remember when social democrats led the polls between spring and autumn 2022, before their latest self-destruction exercise? It didn’t have to be this way.

For the crowd still raving about the Danish Social Democrats, convinced that all social democratic parties should adopt their course.

I’ll leave this chapter in the (very long) book of "Stuff I worried about that actually turned out fine".

Really happy to share that I officially passed my oral comprehensive exams last week, the final part of this months-long process, which means I can now claim the fancy title of "PhD Candidate". 🥹
