Okay, finished this. I like kneesocks but sometimes there isn't enough of a fancy skein to make them, even with the toes and heels done in a complementing solid color. So then I have to dig in my leftover yarn for some matches and fill in the remaining space...

So we're definitely going to have to hit the post-Xmas clearance sales for a new tree for next year. Branches are sagging, wires bent. Fake needles are scattered across the floor beneath. This after just two days.

David has reached the high shelf. Ninja is considering this. (We move the cat tree to the other side of the living room to make room for the Xmas tree. If we put it here, the cats get a boost to the shelf. If we put it on the west side of this wall they get a boost to the mantel.)

Ninja has been climbing in the tree. Earlier she was doing it while clutching a fuzzy ball in her teeth and growling. Right now branches are being dislodged. #ProofOfCat

#ShowMeYourKnits This mitten has been in limbo since about March, waiting for me to be back in the mood to finish it. The line of neon green is the row of waste yarn where I'll unpick those stitches to open it up into a fliptop mitten. The colorwork is lifted from the pattern of the Vail sweater. 🧶
Okay, got this set up. The chair is carefully placed to be seen by trick-or-treaters walking to the door. After the photo I turned off the battery-powered lights and unplugged the extension cord - I'll turn it back around 6pm or so. (And guard or from the kittens in the meantime.)

Third try at a gel mani and I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. A week old and still looks good - next week I touch up my hair dye and no doubt stain the white areas green, so I'll do a new one to last through Halloween.

Ninja got into a fly stick last night and got goop all over her fur. I was logged in and still working so I couldn't do much beyond a wet washcloth and a squirt of Dawn. Now I'm clocked out for lunch and I think I may need to give her a bath... #ProofOfCat

I reached the halfway mark on this project months ago but stalled out due to a delay in finding enough yarn for the second sock, plus general lack of interest in knitting during the summer.

Yep, there are really two kittens. Yesterday I got them collars to color-code them so we can tell them apart more easily. #ProofOfCat #Caturday

Super Dave again. Easier to photo than Ninja because of his tendency to climb the humans he knows. (The staffer at the animal shelter said he's a parrot.) Geeze, he just got on my shoulder again. Trixie continues her project of befriending the kittens.

So I went by the animal shelter today. The adult cats are irritated, the dog is ECSTATIC, and this new little guy is beginning to tolerate the dog's presence. (The dog was on a walk with Mom when I got home, so she still hasn't discovered the second kitten hiding in the laundry cubbyhole.)
