Like I've got a 1.5 hour in person meeting with about 15 people on Wednesday and I'm seriously considering wearing an N95 throughout (fortunately I can expect minimal pushback on this) because people have forgotten that illness is communicable?!

If they haven't got flu they've got Covid, which would be fine if people remembered that one time nobody went to the office so others didn't catch it, but they haven't, so now I'm looking at getting a private covid jab (£100) in addition to a private flu jab (£20). Just stay at home you bastards!

I thought the research system in non-clinical science was fucked up but ever since I had to start paying attention to the present state of psychopharmacological research it ironically makes one feel and appear like a paranoid loon

"up to you to spot it lol" Amazing, I love living in the future where the magical AI assistant may or may not do the simple task you asked and then may or may not tell you whether it did it properly or not, now to fully disable this and return to Ludditeism

What I do at these times is remind myself that the presentation at CERN announcing the detection of the Higgs Boson was in Comic Sans and used Clipart, so my tree map is going to look like I'm on some Tufte shit www.theguardian.com/artanddesign...
Higgs boson and Comic Sans: the perfect fusion
