The #ink I write with
is magic ink. It can
conjure up moments
of beauty, joy, solace
and calm. It can anchor
memories in time &
space & it can help
me understand.
This ink I write with
is magic ink.

This poem
tastes of #nougat
& when you
read it aloud,
I hope it doesn't stick
to your gums, but
melts on your tongue,
leaving you craving for more.

In my office, just
opposite my desk,
hangs a poster of
a #lavender field.
Every time, work
becomes exhausting,
I dream myself into
that sunny picture.
One day, I hope to
wake up in that sunny
field, looking at a picture
of an empty office.

She came from Nigeria
& had #curly hair.
One day, she came
into the class room,
went straight up to me
& started touching my hair.
I asked her what the matter is
& she said: Everybody wants
to touch my hair & now
I am touching back.

short of temper
& of money

but don't call me

hung nobody, except
my coat on the rack

To understand
the #language of

have to lean in
real close and listen
to the flicker of the flame.
Angry words smell
like burnt horn.

#history
is a long black train,
appearing out of the fog
to briefly stop to let
people get on & off
& then disappear again.
Sightings are recorded
by trainspotters called
historians. We, the passengers,
have no choice, but to trust
the driver to bring us
to our final destination
safely

This morning,
I thought #long
about my poem.
I thought about hair,
roads, days, even
years & an untranslatable
pun by my little niece.
But everything I
thought about
fell short.

I'm stuck between the pages
of my favourite book.

I've been reading it too intensily
and now can't come back.

It feels like I'm slowly turning
into the main #character.

Call me Athanasius!

Maybe you can help
and read me out again.

#EarwormOfTheDay: I drah zua by Wolfgang Ambros

Yesterday, we watched the last episode of Austrian-German Thriller series "Der Pass" & the song plays complete during the very last scene. I's in Viennese German (which I love)

The pencil is #famous to the paper

The chalk is famous to the blackboard,
just like its dust is to your fingers,
which are in return famous to
the sentence you are reading at the moment.

The vocab is famous to the student,
but do we really have to know
everything famous?

After the shouting stops,
we can hear again
the wind rustling in the trees
and the birds singing.

Maybe we can hear also
hear again, what we are saying
and not just how it is said.

I'm delighted to find myself again in the pages of @dadakuku.bsky.social - this time with a variation of the first sentence of James Joyce's Finnegans Wake. I actually dreamt the first drafft of this poem...

Thank you for having me again!

I didn't have a good #education,
it seems, because they never taught me
why atomic weapons are bad in
some hands and good in others.
But they always told me not
to compare apples and pears.
But they are both fruit, aren't they?
