So much fun at Dorset Medieval Archery this afternoon. I really recommend it to any medievalists out there. We got to shoot a knight. Pulling arrows out of a wooden shield is quite hard and a helmet even harder 😂.

I particularly like these heads of Judean kings dating from 1220 and found in Notre Dame during a renovation (not the recent one). You can see that they were originally painted and would have looked rather real!
