My leading theories for why Trump is calling for Epstein files release:
1. Secretly still saying not to release them behind closed doors so he doesn’t have to veto it at his desk. In public changes the appearance of his view
2. Tampered with files (I doubt it, why would it take this long?)

Reason I’m skeptical of the “they’ve finished scrubbing it” is that they’ve had plenty of time to do so. And honestly I don’t see how they’d not get caught at this point
