Do you think that billionaires own house that are worth more than £2m?
November 27, 2025 at 1:46 PM
They are wealthy and should be taxed.
November 27, 2025 at 1:42 PM
People who own £2m house are by definitely multimillionaires.
November 27, 2025 at 1:41 PM
So not the Labour front bench, who were willing to burn all their political goodwill in order to whip in favour of the ban less than six months ago?
November 27, 2025 at 12:30 PM
And this is a better future than allowing billionaire plutocrats to make the country a post-apocalyptic hellhole for everyone because middle-class Telegraph readers cannot countenance the idea of anyone actually wanting to come live here.
November 27, 2025 at 12:29 PM
At the end of the day, this will not please everyone. There's a minority of racists whose 'concerns' are rooted in nothing more than the discomfort of having to see non-white people or hear Polish on the bus.

But they're a tiny, tiny minority.
November 27, 2025 at 12:27 PM
The only way to address 'concerns about immigration' is to offer positive solutions to the underlying issues which drive them: refunding public services, improving housing stock, restraining exploitative bosses, rebuilding social networks.
November 27, 2025 at 12:25 PM
Accordingly, we *must* start calling out this bullshit. We cannot continue to court bad-faith actors - in all parties - who claim to be merely 'listening to public concerns'.

These concerns are not real. They are ginned up by media barons in order to pass the buck from the wealthy to the powerless.
November 27, 2025 at 12:23 PM
You could reduce immigration to zero, and it would not even begin to touch the problems which 'immigration' purports to be concerned with.

All it would do is crash the economy, destroy the taxation base, and create a massive repressive fascist state to enforce it.
November 27, 2025 at 12:21 PM
You cannot satisfy demands made to deal with 'the problems of immigration' because immigration itself does not cause these problems.

They are caused by the same people who retain power in neoliberal society: exploitative bosses, landlords, state elites enforcing austerity, etc etc.
November 27, 2025 at 12:20 PM
You're telling us you honestly believe, hand on heart, that Labour magically 'found the money' to abolish the two child cap between July and November?
November 27, 2025 at 12:05 PM
Also, there are reports that the judiciary received only 24 hours notice of the proposed changes to the asylum system! Trying to force whole repressive structures to dance to the tune of tomorrow's papers is a recipe for total paralysis and gridlock. Expect things to get very chaotic, very quickly.
November 27, 2025 at 11:05 AM
This isn't driven by any grand overarching animus, it's driven by small-minded technocratic penny-pinching - which is as much a critical component of fascism as the goosestepping and the uniforms.
November 27, 2025 at 11:03 AM
Huge part of it.
November 27, 2025 at 9:58 AM
1. That government policy is wholly virtue signalling, since it is not aimed at solving real problems but merely at signalling right-wing in-group allegiance.

2. Named accounts like yours talk more bollocks than any anon I've ever seen.
November 26, 2025 at 11:43 PM
So you don't think that loudly attacking migrants, anti-genocide activists, the disabled, the poor etc, is not virtue signalling? Huh.
November 26, 2025 at 11:00 PM
I mean we're frustrated that you literally said you 'don't know and don't care' why they fought a massive, expensive, bloody battle against their own backbenchers to keep the Cap (and 500k kids in poverty) less than 6 months ago.

Surely this is worthy of some reflection, my guy?
November 26, 2025 at 10:56 PM
We're talking about what actually happened in reality, Benjamin.
November 26, 2025 at 10:40 PM
Answer my questions, Ben.

Why did the leadership pull out all the stops to keep the Cap, including suspending MPs?

Why have they decided to change their position now?
November 26, 2025 at 10:36 PM
Yes, yes it is. I was hoping to prompt a modicum of self-reflection in the OP.
