Like Leopold Bloom’s cat, she has avid shameclosing eyes. She is resting after slight harassment of all the other cats.

She’s on a break from being up for adoption. If Lucy ever comes out from under the chair, Spot can be one of the family. Right now, my four are all keeping to about a two-foot radius of the yellow chair and Spot is roaming freely.

It’s the screechy strings that Friendly hated. Even an expert can’t play a tiny violin very well because of the tiny short strings. Ah well. I couldn’t blame her for wanting the pain to stop.

To be fair, the sounds of a little kid on a tiny violin learning to play “Twinkle” are not for the faint of heart.

Thank you for suggesting this thread. It’s so good to remember cats we’ve loved. Of course they are always with me, but taking time to look through their photos was so nice.

It’s terrible because one minute your cat is fine and the next in terrible pain and unable to move. It was not a good way to go. Poor Tillie.

I didn’t know that could happen, to be honest. My dad had her mom and said same thing happened to her but he didn’t tell me because he thought I would be upset.

I know, right? My kid described her that way, and I made a note to teach said kid to sit properly. She’s a fine violinist now too, by the way. Friendly didn’t mind once she graduated to Bach.

And this is Zeke, the first cat I lost, to heart attack at 3 a.m.

This is my cat Lizzie who lived to 19 1/2 years and who divided the world into Jen and Not-Jen. The terror of vets, she was the first person who loved me best.

My tortie cat, Tillie, also had saddle thrombus. I didn’t know such a thing existed one minute, the next she was gone.

This is my cat Friendly, who invited herself in to live with us (with the help of a three-year-old). When that child was learning to play violin, Friendly would nip at the back of her legs and yowl to get her to stop. When she didn’t, Friendly nipped me. Miss her.
