A bicolor cat in the van pattern (mostly white with black markings on face, black tail, and a few black spots on body. This one looks like she's wearing the back half of a pair of black trousers, which you can tell because she is sleeping in a most indelicate way. She is a foster cat -- her three babies were all adopted, and she is home right now having a "rest" from being in the adoption arena at Petsmart. I can't figure out why she wasn't adopted -- she is beautiful, sweet, highly intelligent, and wants to please -- that last one most uncatlike. I would like to keep her, but one of my four cats has been hiding for nearly three weeks now. Not sure when she will get used to Spot's presence, if ever.

This is my cat Lizzie who lived to 19 1/2 years and who divided the world into Jen and Not-Jen. The terror of vets, she was the first person who loved me best.

My tortie cat, Tillie, also had saddle thrombus. I didn’t know such a thing existed one minute, the next she was gone.

This is my cat Friendly, who invited herself in to live with us (with the help of a three-year-old). When that child was learning to play violin, Friendly would nip at the back of her legs and yowl to get her to stop. When she didn’t, Friendly nipped me. Miss her.

Sweet Two-Spot, who likes cuddles the most, is a white kitten with black mask and two black spots, seen here on my lap with one claw in my finger to encourage a resumption of petting. Now all foster kittens are adopted and I’m just waiting to hear about their mom.

Spot and her daughter Two-Spot enjoying some catnip from the garden. Spot is a white cat with the occasional black spot. Two-Spot the same but kitten, and two spots on the side you can’t see. Each cat has her own spring of catnip, and Spot is more possessive of hers than anything so far. As I write, sister Mo has taken Two-Spot’s nip, but kitten doesn’t care. My last week with these three and Oscar, the last if Spot’s current children. All are leaving me next Sunday to be adopted into families I hope will love them as much as I do.
