Awkward history lover who loves drunken book shopping, and naps. Cave Gremlin and data nerd.
Genuinely saved me, I was having a rough time generally and he made me feel less terrible. I’d never have seen as much Shakespeare as I have if it wasn’t for him. I mean, a fair bit for a normal person, you know? Kiddo is getting 3 Shakespeare graphic novels for Christmas so the legacy continues.

I loved how cross he was with all of us for being completely clueless. Bloody brilliant and fair. And of course I went to see it after that! I think I saw most of the Shakespeare plays, and I did costumes for LVIth as we did a couple of Coward plays that year.

I’m dying over here. That’s amazing.

When he talks shop with another company director friend of ours I have to step away, it hurts, AND I WORK WITH DATA 🤣

LOL. I don’t think he’d have minded tbh. I’m glad I had the other Mr B, he understood me and mentored me. The only time he was pissed with me was I told him Tess of the d’Ubervilles needed to get a life. And my position remains unchanged.

LMAO

Ok, another time you’re going to need to explain yourself on that one. I’m not surprised particularly - just need to know in what way wild. I’m now invested.

My fave English lesson was when the other Mr B said we should all go see RIII (that year’s Shakespeare play) and no-one of us knew the history. He was so furious he abandoned the lesson and we got double history instead. We were even reading RIII, absolute scenes

I am picky about narrators, some are frustratingly slow, but we know my brain doesn’t operate at the same speed as yours. Like when himself decides to try and explain work numbers verbally to me - no dude, I need this written down to process. I am a jack of all trades, master of none etc…

As someone who manages about 2 audiobooks a month, I say it definitely counts!

I loved books as a kid, got a TV for my 18th (way way back) and then barely read again. Once I got an audiobook account I became unstoppable! I also realise now I’m terrible at imagining things so the audios add some colour my brain can’t provide. Honestly was life-changing

Quite right! We love our audiobooks. Kiddo falls asleep to Horrible Histories, the Ghosts companion book, or Loki. We all love bedtime.

What lovely photos of lovely people! Thanks for sharing

The *best* part was it was family who evicted us, to whack the rent up. Flip-side is we now live in this ramshackle but adorable cottage on the edge of a farm, each day I look out of the window and feel like I’m in a John Clare poem. And we managed to keep our cats! I’m practising gratitude

Private rentals are so precarious. We were evicted in the summer, it cost us £000s to move, and we’re in a smaller house for more money, with higher council tax and I have no disposable income now. If we were evicted from here I don’t know how we’d cope.

Had to be Norwich, where a group of Jewish people were stuffed into a well, and discovered when building the new shopping centre. I always wonder how many people know or care when they’re walking past Zara.

I genuinely didn’t know that. Jesus 🤦‍♀️

Wasn’t it Edward I anyway? Another dubious honour for the English

Literally last night had a text convo with my BFF who went to see a specialist for a new issue, who refused to tell her what’s wrong with her as he ‘didn’t trust her not to google it’ even though she’s already living with a life limiting/complex condition, like she cannot cope with bad news.

This was a more gentle way to find out, thank you. It’s been a week so have avoided all sports so as not to amplify the drama.
