It’s safe to say, I’ll never be an architect or pastry chef, but they are staying together. They went together easily not a swear, that’s a Christmas miracle! They’ll look great once the kids decorate them with candy. I used a vegan royal icing. I tried the gingerbread from the first batch, YUMMMM!

First attempt at making gingerbread houses for decorating. The dough wasn’t what I expected, very soft. I followed the directions using grams! Second try using cookie cutters, better (King Arthur Baking sale $10!). Not perfect, frosting will hide most of the mistakes. Sparking sugar a bit overdone.

Tatin Surprise and Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms, Plenty, Ottolenghi. Really yummy vegetarian meal with tons of flavor. I’ve made the Tatin, this tine it was a bit liquidy, which made a bit of a mess serving. While it didn’t look pretty, it was delicious 😋

My morning project, it was still warm tonight. I used the recipe & tools from King Arthur Baking and I actually made a pie crust. It has been my nemesis. Oddly, I can make a puff pastry with my eyes closed, but a basic pie crust always became a nightmare. Not today! Great recipe and yummy dessert!

Pizza night, my favorite. I love mine, garlicky sauce, lots of stuff & cheese & super thin crust. King Arthur Baking, Now or Later. I use regular semolina. It adds extra crunch. My new pizza rocker from KAB works great! Two pizzas, I ate 3/4 of one & probably could have eaten a whole one I’m bad!

Cheese Soufflé for dinner (ATK)! If you haven’t noticed, there’s a theme when Janet is visiting her mom. Eggs in some form are on the menu. She just doesn’t like them. Avery and I do so when she’s away, it’s eggs! So yummy!
