Scenario 1: Put the stats where they ought to go. Players moan about nerfs and review bomb you.

Scenario 2: Sledgehammer the stats. Players moan. Bump the stats up where you wanted them, players praise you for listening to the community.

Not saying this is my personal experience, nope.

I tell my students they should keep the CYA principle in mind when coding. That A should be well Covered.

But I'd expect preemptively flushing a buffer before using it to be well beyond CYA, and more like CY entire body.

Aaah. I simply clicked on that jackhole's site through your response, and it's just angryboy nonsense.

So I was, let's say, really bemused that you were following that. Didn't seem to be your sort of thing.

I sort of wonder if I couldn't get hold of it and then send it to you. Coin-toss if they've caught that loophole.

Can I just suggest not following meme-posting sunsabishes?

As a cis-het dude I fully support your right to have whatever goddamn desktop you want, even one centered on hating me, specifically, for eternity.

I'll slap the sandwich out of your hand and call you a nerd?
November 24, 2025 at 6:28 PM
Sounds like you need to get some Caves of Qud in, stat.

I went and looked at their account when I saw this (I guess I'm ghoulish) and it's the usual mass-report clout-chaser algorithmic nonsense. A literal political echo-chamber, even if some of those are my politics.

Your cat, though? Lovely. Cats are right about many things.

Well, I know a person or two, etc., and we're looking at maybe mid-ish December.

All that remains is getting a crew together that knows what coop is, eh?

One should dress for comfort.

I can't help it if I'm that hawt. The world can stand next to me if it feels cold.

Near as I can tell, I think he's trying to turn a rifle into a missile?

I am pretty sure the tongue is firmly planted in the cheek.

I don't do much telly in any form, but when I do, Taskmaster (UK, Aus, NZ, Qc variants and all but the Qc version available on the 'tubes), and we used to watch Project Binky (a couple English nerds modify a car over the span of years).

The missus and I would love some. Poor dear needs a touch of Saskatchewan from time to time. She's got way too much kerbek goin' on.

I want to write this ol' essay that's backing you up here but it turns into a tirade, and I have this feeling you've come from a long conversation on this very topic anyway.

So I'll just say, "Yes. This." Maybe an arrow pointing your post.

Haha. I used to writ FORTRAN-77 code. Looking at a newer variant might be insightful and remind me of its shenanigans.

I also teach C, and Rust is a natural extension therefrom. They're both equally useful to me.
November 19, 2025 at 4:28 PM
Or FORTRAN, just occured to me.
November 19, 2025 at 4:22 PM
I'm doing it.

Thought I'd try using Rust for it.
November 19, 2025 at 4:19 PM
Just between you and me, I joke because the alternative is too dour. A certain degree of deliberate, wilful optimism is required.

How else are we gonna teach children about knives?
November 18, 2025 at 3:09 PM
Noooo, but, y'know, maybe not a bad idea? Though Steam sorta does that already. Sorta.

Seems like a lot of work for a passionate crew.
