Best clockmaker on Mars
Per the Dade county elections office, the City of Miami has approx 175k registered voters. Lots of second homes/seasonal residents. Still not great turnout by any means, but a little bit better

I played this for a coworker at open this morning. She can’t wait to introduce it to her grandkids so they’ll play it nonstop in front of their parents

Only like 175k registered voters though. Still not great by any means by not quite as atrociously low

True, but even though the Miami mayoral race is officially non-partisan, everyone is aware of the party affiliations and this is the first registered Democrat to win since 1998

The actual city of Miami isn’t very big

What most people think of when they of Miami is the Miami Dade County metro

What most people think of as Miami as actually Metro Dade County

The actual city of Miami is relatively small and very republican. There hasn’t been a registered Democrat mayor there since 1998

On a similar note, Miami just elected its first registered Democrat mayor since Tee Martin took the Vols to a national championship

That “dominant” run he mentioned included 5 teams with losing records and 2 G5 team

It’s an admittedly small sample size, possibly affected by curation of block lists, but I’ve seen significantly more Notre Dame fans/apologists complaining about people being mad at them for skipping a bowl than I’ve seen people actually mad at them for skipping a bowl

Can’t figure out if Kevin Patullo has incriminating photos of Jeffrey Lurie or is his nephew
December 9, 2025 at 1:57 PM
I’m genuinely curious what the vibe amongst ND and their fans would be like if the committee had done the right thing and ranked them below the team that beat them from the get go, instead of switching it on the final reveal after neither team played

Leave Patullo on the tarmac of LAX
December 9, 2025 at 4:50 AM
It’s the 45th anniversary of it. The entire country found out about it via Howard Cosell
December 9, 2025 at 4:11 AM
All I’m saying is no one has ever seen Kevin Patullo and Mike Bobo in the same room
December 9, 2025 at 3:54 AM
Genuinely mystifying why he refuses to even consider running this season when no one is open
December 9, 2025 at 3:53 AM
The 1999 Bucs defense was so ridiculously good that they were an overturned Bert Emmanuel catch away from beating the Greatest Show on Turf in StL in the NFC Championship game with Shaun fucking King at QB

There was real debate on whether this kind of torture was justified to use on members of Al Qaeda who were a threat to America (spoiler: it wasn’t)

So why the fuck is it being used on refugees just trying to make a better life for themselves?
December 8, 2025 at 10:21 PM
I don’t think Bama should be in, but I also think it was blindly obvious the committee wasn’t ever going to exclude them. Thus, rightly or wrongly, it came down to a binary choice of either Notre Dame or Miami

Literally the second half of the skeet you replied to
December 8, 2025 at 9:27 PM
I’m with you. Conference titles need to mean something and I honestly couldn’t care less about the arguments concerning the 6th or 7th best team in the country that couldn’t win their conference
December 8, 2025 at 8:44 PM
I promise you this much: the committee will move heaven and earth every year to get as many of Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan, Georgia, Texas, and USC into the field as they can. It makes a big difference with the rating and thusly what they can charge for ads
December 8, 2025 at 7:50 PM
I guarantee you they won’t. Irish would have gotten in this year if not for H2H result being too big to ignore - because again, they were never not going to put in a Bama team that made CCG, deserving or not

ND brand worth too much $ to playoffs
December 8, 2025 at 7:44 PM
FWIW, I don’t think Miami should have jumped ND when neither team played a game

But I also don’t think they should have ever been behind ND in the first place given the H2H and furthermore wouldn’t have been behind any other team in same situation, save for Bama and Ohio St
