I have a huge RPG collection. All these books are filled with art that most people will never see. So, I decided I’m going to build a kind of archive. Scan it all in and post it out there for people to see.

I’ll be posting 4 pictures a day. Hopefully you’ll see something you like.

Invasion Season 3 was pretty good. I'm glad they introduced new aliens. It's no Alien: Earth or Foundation, but it definitely holds up as a cool sci-fi drama, that's not campy and has some interesting sci-fi elements rather than just action.

This event didn't really seem to have an ending, which is surprising because it includes about 18 comic issues. It was more like, "the whole world is affected here's what happened with Spider-Man, and here's what happened with the Might Avengers, and here's what happened etc..." It probably didn't help that I read a couple graphic novels simultaneously that were connected to the event. But I do like the idea of random people with powers popping up and certain factions trying to take advantage of them. I'm curious where the rest of this storyline continues.

I definitely love some of Caldwell’s work, but this one looks too “stiff” to me. I have always loved that one with the demon silhouette in the background (from Fabian).

I gave every book in this series 5 Stars. I'm stingy with 5-star ratings. I'm old. I'm jaded. These books just did it for me EVERY TIME. I haven't been this emotionally affected by a book since Tigana. I got goosebumps at least once per book, probably more. I didn't actually cry, but I got pretty damn sad. Like Tigana I wanted to throw the book at some point, but I was listening to it on my phone so that might not have been great. I've been writing on and off my whole life and I'm currently writing. This book is inspiring me to be a better writer. It's forced me to think, "What is Mr. Castell doing that I'm not?" and "How can I make my readers feel like his writing is making me feel right now?" So I gave all my characters trenchcoats and named my 3 main characters: Kalcio, Best, and Frasti. Totally kidding (maybe). Definitely looking forward to the other books set in this world, even if they don't have the characters I've come to know and love in them (I'm not sure if they do, haven't looked into them yet). Also will be checking out the rest of Castell's catalog ASAP.

This is a sample of the 100 "session ideas for fantasy rpgs" that come in the full book. The format was nice and very intuitive, the art was not really my thing, but wasn't bad, the plots were simple/standard and the details were sparse, but I think that's what they were going for. The adventure pictured on the cover was definitely the "stand-out" in the originality department, it reminded me of something you might see in a Dungeon Magazine "Side-Treks" section.

I know this (color) pic is on the front of the Priest Spell Cards boxed set from 2nd ed. Makes me wonder how often they would use a piece of artwork.

I met Brom earlier this year at a book signing. He was amazing, talked to the crowd for about an hour. Super friendly and signed about 10 books for me.

I also know I’ve seen this (color) picture in other books, just not which one. I think it’s a really cool idea for a picture (a wizard being tormented by fairies).

So ends the first Corum trilogy. I didn't like this one as much as the others. It seems like he got lazy with what could have been exciting/interesting battle scenes. I was disappointed that even though some of the other eternal champions incarnations made guest appearances they were treated like minor characters and not given much "personality", they didn't get the "epic-ness" that they deserved.

My wife wanted to watch a scary movie because it's the season. I'm not a big horror fan, but this looked cool. It was pretty good. Action and with supernatural stuff, Davinci Code type stuff, but with less intrigue and more horror.

I think many of the full-page color paintings in this book were later used as covers for other books/boxed sets. Not sure about this one though.

This was fun and gross and sometimes repetitive. I would honestly love to know the number of times the words shit, piss, urine and blood were used in this story. I get that it's grimdark and they want to set a gritty tone, but it was a bit much (for me at least). It was a cool idea and the characters were interesting. The parts with the demon were written in a poetic/stream of consciousness style that imo works better the shorter it is. As it was, it seemed to get very repetitive and if I wasn't listening to it on audio I probably would have skimmed it. I'll definitely be reading more Fletcher and Spark to see if I like their longer work.

I guess there is a purse full of coins there, but overall, this looks like a pretty disturbing scene. Surprised it made it into the final version of the book.

I really enjoyed the Egil and Nix books from Kemp so I figured I'd give some of his other books a try. First, I read the short stories about this character Erevis Cale in some old Dragon magazines and then started with this book, though it sounds like there are others before this with him in them. When I was young I loved novels set in D&D worlds, but as I got older and older I found them disappointing more often than not. This was pretty good, but definitely didn't blow me away. The characters weren't loveable like Egil and Nix. It's much darker and more serious. I would say this is a step up from the last 4 or 5 D&D/RPG novels I've read in the past 10 years. This first book left things hanging after completing a major part of the story arch, but I'm not sure if I'll ever get back to it to find out what happens.

I read & enjoyed the first 5 books as a kid, but never played a campaign set in the world or played the Saga rules.

can't remember who recommended this, but whoever you are, thank you! It's always a great feeling when you're reading something and it's a solid 4 stars, but then something happens that really impresses you, and then something else etc... First of all I'd like to say that this book is tagged as "lgbtq", but it's not a story about queer people, it's not a romance detailing some gay relationship. In this case the tag just means that some of the characters are homosexual. Gayness is a very small part of the plot. There are no sex scenes, hetero or homosexual. This was military space opera, but with some heavy plotting, deep characters, and cool ideas. It wasn't all about new tech (though there was some cool science) or a bunch of new alien races or exploring new worlds. I found the plot really original, the characters interesting and the writing exemplary. I really liked the narrator too.
