I guess with something like Christmas there's so many different customs trying to cover them all would require a whole long survey just of its own.

I was also told of people hearing footsteps in corridors above them. I never experienced anything but it was always on my mind from then on.

I used to work as a stage door keeper at a theatre so I had to lock up late at night after everyone had gone. It was a bit creepy but OK, then I heard someone on a different shift had apparently seen a cloaked figure standing at the top of some stairs staring down at them and grinning.

Ghost stories are still a thing for 8% of people according to this recent folklore survey, although that seems to include reading and watching them rather than telling them as well.
