Seriously, creative folks: Don't be afraid to let people know your stuff is out there for them, or worry that "now is not the time for that." People are stressed and freaked out and looking for the things that will give them a moment of rest and joy. It is EXACTLY the time for what we do. Tell them.

I agree. I work collaboratively with my artists on my books. To me the whole designation thing is more for the general public to make a distinction....but real ones know!
Hot take: Comic artists will always be more important than comic writers. And should be credited as such.
I say this having written a book illustrated by an artist who brought it to life; I say this as someone who writes and draws comics her own comics. Comic artists are authors. ✏️

Do not tell writers your ideas for stories. We don’t need ideas for stories. We might even be working on a story similar to your idea and now fall into a legal gray area.
If you think that your idea works as a story, you should write it. Or keep it to yourself.

To my fellow indie creators, do not worry about #c2e2 #momocon #dreamcon and these large shows. These places do not cater to small creators like us. Focus instead on doing the yeoman's work of helping readers through literacy at small cons at schools and libraries. Much more impact you can have!
