Quick question: I'm a dev and designer in my day job and have been making games as a hobby for over a decade. I'm pretty new to Godot and am in a position where I need to maximize the amount of art polish I can create programmatically. I typically make 2d games. What would you suggest I buy?

I was starting a YT channel that grew a little following when my job hunt started two years ago. Since then, I can only focus on a game if I record.
Still can’t make videos, still telling myself I will, but at least I’ve got my first playthrough of Silksong fully recorded

Literally could not agree more. I was blessed with a true successor to Super, and like the best in the series, it’s proving to age very well.
It sucks that MP4 is so meh, but I’ll just hang out over here with my Switch and Dread

Out of curiosity, which mask did you end up preferring? I'm putting together a script about the masks and am trying to gather datapoints.
I ended up using the wanderer 90% of the time and low-key felt bad about it a bit (I felt they'd clearly designed against the native moveset)

Yeah my mom raised me Catholic but also raised me to never listen to anyone who will tell me to do something without telling me why or what they've experienced that puts them in a position of authority over my choices.

My only issue with this definition is that it opens a loophole for Mortal Kombat. I have to assume by now that there's been a shotgun fatality

My skinfolk should be asking to be taught HOW to organize by the people who have been doing this for generations. The fact that we're not even stepping over the "stop playing, acknowledge that this IS America, and actually put in the work" bar is equal parts unsurprising and disappointing.

THANK YOU. The de-evolution of Samus is particularly grating to me as a huge fan of Super (though Dread's story gave me hope).
Admittedly, my biggest problem with Zelda is the essentialism (prophecy and tension are incompatible), but silent Link is a close second.

This game is a perfect sequel. I have a few teensy issues with the game design, but as a sequel, it's flawless.
This includes the sound design. It all starts so quiet and atmospheric that by the time you get to the second act and Larkin starts heating up, the contrast just heightens the impact.

There's actually an interesting conversation to be had about the types of conveyance afforded by different graphical styles, and the workarounds of dealing with hardware limitations.

I can't be the only one who has tried eleven-fifty different times to use some "second brain" or todo framework that just doesn't help me with my particular ADHD quirks.
I uhh... I realize that this wasn't remotely the point of the post, but the brain wants what it wants.

There should be a community or github org or something just for devs/designers who have ADHD. I would love to pool our resources to come up with building blocks we can compose into apps that work for us individually.

I've honestly been shocked at the language being used on the behalf of the Somali immigrants in MN: instead of "aliens" or even "immigrants", it's "neighbors", "friends", and so on.
The bar is indeed in hell, but dropping the dehumanizing language is something, at least.

If you want me to do a lot of backtracking, great! Just optimize for it - make regions change over time, or have new abilities unlock different traversal paths... the solutions are endless, just try something.
