I do recall Plasma 5's desktop editor being quite awful, but Plasma 6 is wayyy better.
That said, I am actually on Windows at the moment due to work, school, and certain games (no judge pls) so I haven't even seen recent Plasma updates and features.

And that point you mentioned about the app icon strikes me more as a feature rather than a bug, no? So that each app launcher can have different apps?
Unless I misunderstood what you meant.

Huh, I can't say I've personally ever experienced any major bugs that detract from the experience / usability for me, but if GNOME is more stable for you then that's totally fair.
Out of curiosity, what GPU are you using?

If I can find the time, I might spin up a VM and play around with GNOME again. It has been some time since I've bothered to try it.
Thanks for the input!

Anyway, this is all to say that, in my opinion, there are good reasons why Plasma is the default for a lot of people outside of Ubuntu.
But the beauty of Linux is you can use whatever you want! 3/3

I'm not sure if this is still correct, but last I checked GNOME doesn't support DRM leasing in its Wayland session, which is required for SteamVR to function.
It wasn't without issues, but I was very impressed with how well SteamVR ran on Arch with Plasma 6. 2/3

Personal preference, but I do greatly prefer KDE because of Qt and, in my opinion, far superior customizability. 1/3

The Arch Wiki is awesome 'cause a lot of its information can be applied to other distros too ^_^

This is the agency responsible for investigating industrial chemical accidents and making those super high-quality safety animations on YouTube.
It operates on a modest $14 million budget, and the value it provides far exceeds that. Eliminating it would be a huge mistake.
