Large peaceful protests are a standard feature for the weekend between the two weeks of the climate negotiations. Today’s march in Brazil is most notable for its calling for a funeral for fossil fuels (though the fossil fuel swan song is very strong at COP30) www.theguardian.com/environment/...

YOUR DAILY REMINDER: it is extreme weather, intensified by fossil fuels, that pose the greatest threat to grid security and causes the most blackouts.

The blatantly false idea that renewables cause blackouts is *itself* likely to cause more blackouts, by encouraging more fossil fuel use
