🎄 Whether you’re hosting a holiday get-together or just bringing a dish, keep these cooking safety tips in mind:
• If you leave the kitchen, turn the burner off.
• Plug appliances directly into a wall outlet.
• In case of an oven fire, turn the oven off & keep the door closed until it’s cool.

A house fire in the 500 blk of N. Fillmore Ave. left four occupants displaced & resulted in damages estimated at $270,336. LCFR-FMO determined the fire was accidental, due to an electrical event in a first-floor bedroom’s outlets. No injuries reported. ➡️ bit.ly/49nUotc

🧥🧣 Yesterday, we visited Mobile Hope to deliver the nearly 750 winter clothing items donated so far this year as part of our annual coat drive! We are truly grateful for the support we receive year after year & sincerely appreciate the community for your generosity. We couldn’t do it without you!

Around 9:15 p.m. last night, crews responded to multiple reports of a chicken coop & shed fire along Snickersville Tpke in Bluemont. Crews extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading. Fortunately, no reported injuries. Sadly, several chickens were killed during the incident. ⬇️

#Loudoun County’s Hypothermia Prevention Shelter is open for single adults aged 18+ who are experiencing a housing crisis resulting in homelessness. The shelter provides a warm indoor sleeping environment & meals, seven nights a week through March 31, 2026. Learn more: bit.ly/43VIi7z

The LCFR-FMO has determined Saturday’s fire in the 13000 blk of Loyalty Rd. was accidental, caused by an unspecified electrical event in an electrical power distribution panel within the structure. Damages are estimated at approx. $2.7 million. DETAILS: bit.ly/4ps734b

At approximately 3:35 a.m., #LCFR was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 13000 block of Loyalty Rd. Crews arrived on scene and found a roughly 100x150 foot metal building well involved in fire. No reported injuries. The LCFR-FMO is on scene investigating.

📣 EXCITING NEWS! Our annual coat drive has been extended! Now through Sunday, January 11, 2026, every fire and rescue station in #Loudoun will be accepting donations of clean & gently used or new jackets, scarves, winter hats, gloves & mittens.

With deep sadness, we share the passing of Captain (Ret.) Jan Mitchell on Friday, 11/21/25. Cpt. Mitchell served in the LCFR-FMO from 1990-2011. During her career, Cpt. Mitchell forged the foundation of the FMO, establishing many of the policies & procedures that still guide the office today.
