The descent of Conjuring movies from spooky fun to Catholic exploitation film has been wild.

I mean, I'm no mentalist, but I don't think you can 'bait' people into problematic statements that they don't already believe beforehand.

Not really. You can read the resolution here. It's very much written in a way that if you replaced the initial names with Hitler and Andrew Jackson it could have been about 'the horrors of Democracy.'

I'm assuming most of them left for Thanksgiving break early. Which, I mean, I'd love to just skip out of work with repercussions too, but come on.

"Look, it's only a coincidence that Nicholas Maduro was directly named as a condemnable person in this bill."

Here's the roll call of the vote for those interested. Lots of the moderates you'd expect. Hakeem Jeffries also voted yea.

Either way, Mills is being investigated officially and has no business being in Congress.

-a sort of good faith vote to not break that damn of censuring opposing party members of congress.

Looks like a mix of moderates and old guard. Imagine the argument was 'this isn't the proper way to go about this' and that they should investigate Mills first. I do wonder if this was also because LaMonica McIver and Stacey Plaskett almost got kicked off of committees this year alone and this was-

Mace's resolution is linked here and details Mills' violent attacks & threats against a pair of women he was having separate affairs with, as well accusations that he lied about his military record.
Rep. Nancy Mace To Offer Privileged Resolution To Censure Cory Mills And Remove Him From National Security Committees

I think those are both fair bets.

Another odd vote: Nancy Mace (R-SC) brought a resolution to censure Cory Mills (R-FL) and remove him from two committees due to his violence against a pair of women. Mills asked for the resolution to be referred (tabled) and over half the Dems agreed. It has been tabled 309-104-12

I'm very interested with this House vote because it is guaranteed that it will be 20 people up for re-election. Henry Cuellar, who sponsored this bill, got endorsed by Pelosi and Clyburn the last time he had a strong primary challenger, so no guarantee that it will be popular to oust them.

Since the House is steaming through eleven votes, the roll call probably won't be posted until they're all done and can do a batch upload. Until then though, I'm left wondering how the VBNMW crowd expects to defeat fascism when 20 members are willing to negate any midterm wins the party may get.

Took a nap and woke up just in time to see that HR 5124 and HR 5107 passed the House. Waiting for the roll call, but it looks like HR 5124 passed 237-179, with the support of 28 Dems, & HR 5107 passed 233-190, with the support of 20 Dems.
