We need to talk about the rise of "smol bean fascism" where you have all the guns and the immunity but the really scary people are the ones with whistles and phone cameras and they're giving you generational trauma and ptsd by filming you killing people for no reason

Hitting send and then bracing myself for the inevitable form letter explaining how and why I am wrong 🥰 thanks, @resist.bot!

My health insurance premium for me & my 2 kids might have doubled to a 4-digit price this month, but at least it covers less and I’m paying more out of pocket! 🇺🇸

The plot of every dystopian novel I’ve ever read seems to be converging in real life, but it’s all SO MUCH DUMBER than I ever could’ve imagined. Pattern recognition feels like such a curse right now.

TikTok is one of my favorite time wasters, but hard no to downloading a new app. Byeeeee.
The new TikTok US entity would be controlled by a consortium of Silver Lake, Andreessen-Horowitz, and Oracle. 80% US, 20% China ownership. One board member appointed by the US government. Existing users would be expected to shift to a new app (lol).

Would not be surprised if this nukes usership.
Details Emerge on U.S.-China TikTok Deal
Oracle, Silver Lake and Andreessen Horowitz are part of an investor consortium that will control an 80% stake.

I open up social media and see a scared little girl my daughter’s age, covered in soot, tears clearing paths through the ash as she describes watching a body fly through the wall after a bomb.

No child deserves this.

Not a big fan of the world right now.

From an airplane this just looks like a patch of green grass. It doesn’t change as you zoom out—your perspective does.

Bought eggs from one neighbor, vanilla from another’s farm stand, and when I ran out of sugar mid-recipe, my dad walked it across the street.

No card swipes needed.

I love my village.

I just saw that Ken Paxton may challenge John Cornyn for his senate seat. What’s next? Will the Joker throw his hat in the ring? Or Dr. Evil? Maybe Dracula? Why do we keep electing crooked villains 😭

It’s so very strange to see a journalist burning alive on your social feed between an ad for a dress and an ad for car insurance. I do not recommend this timeline.

IV ketamine therapy pulled me (and several people I know) out of the darkest depression of my life. I never once used it in public or while working. I hope that loser’s abuse of an extremely effective depression treatment doesn’t mess it up for the people who are still alive today because of it.
Musk's use of ketamine for depression raised concerns among experts, who warn of cognitive and psychological impairments, ketamine users experienced memory loss, dissociation from reality, and elevated delusional thinking.

The hard part about unmasking and burnout is that I think folks assume I’m worse because the more I unmask, the more open I am about my struggles. I’m still in burnout, but I’m learning how to navigate it day by day. The day by day varies but the overall trend is positive. ☀️📈

I want us to study the history of resistance to slave catchers right now. I want us to study how slave catchers worked, how they were sanctioned, who paid them, and why they did what they did, right now. I want us to study the hyperlocal and networked ways slave catchers were impeded. Right now.

Shows like Love is Blind are hard to watch when the couples start living together and you can tell that one of the women is struggling to comprehend a controlling and mentally abusive man’s brain. Girl, don’t even try. When you see that dead eyed stare, run.

When I hear men worshipping guns and talking about how there’s nothing that will stop them from defending their family, my mind goes to Naaman in the Bible. Do you remember Naaman? He was a great military leader, and he also had leprosy.
