what is your starting word? I use STARE and 6's are not super common for me (64 compared to 265 7's), there must be a better starter

@pliablehead.bsky.social did you catch the puzzle a week or so back where it was possible to do it in four moves? I think only if you were the luckiest person in the world, though. after I finished it (in 6) I did it again in a different browser to confirm it was possible in 4!

omg same!! only game where I care about my streak! I was up to the owl emoji and now it's going to be like 6 months before I find out the next animal for the streak bc I was too busy cooking and doing chores on Thanksgiving 😭

I also made myself an analog paper sheet with the 5x5 grid and put it in a sheet protector then use dry erase markers to work the puzzle after I have enough letters. Very rewarding. Even carried it with me to Greece

For anyone just starting out, my first few games took over 15 guesses bc I didn't really understand how the game worked, and my first few months I averaged 9. After playing consistently for a long time you have a catalog of 5 letter words that appear frequently and it gets easier.

My average this year has been 7 guesses. I'm OK with 8, pleased with 6, and 5 is a rare treat! We don't speak of the 9s.

I've been confused about this bc I have a MacBook and I log into it with a local profile/password that doesn't exist elsewhere. I also have an Apple account but only use it to pay for applecare. But, I don't have an iPhone and I imagine that's the key. Losing my Google account would be devastating
