There's no way Rockstar could have known what they were doing was union busting.
Oh wait... you're telling me the Pinkertons were the bad guys in Red Dead Redemption 2 and they're union busters?
Oh.

I’m a federal worker (25 years) and I’m pissed. I missed a paycheck and was willing to miss more. As a federal worker I have great and somewhat reasonably priced healthcare. I want that for everyone. Last night was a disgrace

Two observations on this—
1) this was my least engaged with essay maybe ever but definitely in the past two years
2) the longterm consequence for federal workers of letting Republicans eliminate the role of Congress and fire employees/shutter agencies wholesale extends beyond pain of furlough

Like It or Not, We Are All D.C. Now
The residents of the nation’s capital have long been denied their democratic rights. If Trump has his way, other cities may soon feel what that’s like.

this isn’t a uniform opinion by any means, and my sample is smol, but it’s a data point. i still hope everyone understands that federal workers aren’t the reason why democrats folded. they’re stuck in the middle

maintain that there's a chunk of reflexive defense and rationalization of dem behavior that is not out of fandom but out of fear, wanting, needing, something badly to hang faith on. an extremely understandable urge.
but to actually deal with the problem, you need to accept that it is there, first.
