“Hey Wikipedia preview image — my eyes are up here!”

Hmm, Google gives a link to this paper of Park, Lauter, and Zaytsev. Whither does it lead?

Why, back to the AI-authored IACR paper!

Google’s AI summary created a *second* nonexistent paper out of the *first* AI-created nonexistent paper! No wonder they call it “generative AI”!

Here’s the start of it, from a phone screenshot.

Wait a second! Stolen valor! Why are Park, Lauter, and Zaytsev getting credit for *my* imaginary work?

And how did M.E. Zieve and Alexey Zaytsev — people I have actually worked with! — get combined into one person?

Getting ready for the final rehearsal for my singing group :(

(There will be other opportunities for singing, fortunately.)

And, this week I’ve figured out a good way to write up a result I first worked out over 25 years ago…

Back in 2018, on another platform, I noted this abomination and wrote:

“Come on, New Yorker, who styles ‘ZIP Code’ like this? If you’re going to eschew ‘zip code’ as too informal, then you need to capitalize the whole darn acronym.”

See, it’s ok to cave in to a fascist administration if you use third-rate wordplay to make a little joke about your previous “commitment” to fighting back.

It’s a long way from “Democracy dies in darkness.”

I wondered about the [and], and after some searching was able to find this:

Some Diestel Family Ranch turkeys are non-GMO certified… but I guess ours was not one of them!

Our a cappella group is singing in this morning’s service. Rehearsal is over, just waiting for things to start in about 20 minutes.

Water in the bottle. Coffee was consumed at home. :)

Maybe it’s more believable in the early ‘60s? I was just listening to some younger people talk about seeing Judgement at Nuremberg for the first time, and how they thought “Oh, now maybe I can see something attractive in Shatner.”

Quiet now, but soon it is going to become a sociable day.

It’s interesting: Newspaper food sections that mentioned the book when it was published say more about him than the book itself. Here’s a clip from the Los Angeles Daily News (12/1/1954). Also, his obituary in the Biloxi Sun (1/24/1983).

My eyes started rolling as soon as Begala’s name came up, and then I got to this quote and wondered why anyone would want an opinion from someone who characterizes the left like this. The “Mamdani’s win ain’t all that” take was icing on the cake.

Traveling this weekend — on my way home from a conference in Charlotte, NC. Flight boards in about 2.5 hours… currently.

Not hungry right now, but kind of hoping I will become so so that I can get some collards. (Some BBQ as well, but the collards are the attraction.)

From earlier today!

We gave away candy to about 225 kids…

The New Republic posted a link to the video from the trash right-wing network RSBN showing Trump in Japan wandering aimlessly about a room. But the chyron at the bottom made me wonder what’s going on in the psyches of RSBN’s editors…

Unfortunately, today I could not goooooo back to bed because I had a preaching gig. But now I am back home and will change into comfortable clothes and start doing some prep work for tonight’s dinner.

Just got a new iPad to replace one from 2019that was getting flaky, so now I’m on iPadOS 26…

And the keyboard on the BlueSky app has become the most hideous thing I have ever seen in my life.
