Holding NC lawmakers accountable until every child is given the education they are constitutionally owed.
5) If the NCGA is permitted to ignore constitutional rights that they disagree with, none of our constitutional rights are safe

The NCGA has been violating a court order to fund Leandro for 3 years. If courts can't make the NCGA do anything, what value does our state constitution hold?

4) The NC Supreme Court's post 2022 intervention is corrupt

The case was settled law after the 11/22 ruling. Newby's Court only reheard it because they have no regard for stare decis. Also, Berger Jr refused to recuse so he could rule on his daddy's constitutional violations. That's corrupt!

3) The Plan is readily affordable

NC ranks dead last for school funding effort. This is b/c instead of funding Leandro, legislators passed a series of tax cuts that benefitting corporations and wealthy North Carolinians. It’s our students who have paid for those tax cuts.

2) The Leandro Plan is the *only* plan to uphold students’ Constitutional rights

The Leandro Plan is research-based, targeted, and detailed. It's supported by educators, families, and students from across the state.

Nobody has put forth an alternative plan.

Mebane Rash undoubtedly is aware of this yet neglects to mention it. Such silence helps legsilators who want to continue to violate students' constitutional rights

There's also an appendix with required funding levels for each of the Leandro Plan action steps. This is money that our students are owed, but legislative leaders are instead using to fund tax cuts for corporations and wealthy North Carolinians.

A reminder that the Leandro Plan can be found here. IF you're writing about education issues, there's a good chance the issue would be addressed if legislators did their jobs and funded the Leandro Plan.
