Leaving the individual case aside, while downsizing might be good, that might mean moving area or lower quality housing. Taking away people, especially elderly people, from their community is awful and myopic. The problem is the housing industry not individuals' choices.

Workers leaving, students not allowed to stay on and work so they leave, while asylum seekers, who aren’t allowed to work, increase. Wasn’t Labour all about growth? 🤔🙄

Prisons are also very expensive. It’d be cheaper to invest in crime prevention! :-)

And nobody asks why politicians don’t allow asylum seekers to work. All successive governments have preferred to pay asylum seekers instead of risking them getting integrated through work, housing etc.

One doesn’t need to use racist words to be a racist. Farage’s policies are racist. So are those of Mahmood, Braverman, Patel, May. They are fascistic. Deeds are more important than words.

Those with no ethics gain power because of institutional corruption (in a broad sense, including inertia), conformism (see Moravia), structures that undermine merit (yes there is such thing but it’s contextual), cultural changes etc. To fight that you can’t rely on good individuals but critical mass

Why vote for the phoney Nazis? People who like the Nazis, will vote for the real thing. (And no, I’m not exaggerating. Labour cosplay the Nazis when proposing to take jewellery from refugees). bylinetimes.com/2025/08/21/t...

I didn’t write it but it’s dumber to dismiss the post on the language alone and missing the point completely.
