November 28, 2025 at 8:38 PM
You've seen a few posts from us about public transit projects and initiatives that COULD be funded in next week's city budget adjustment.

Here are a complete list of what we want to see council approve (and in some cases oppose) when they go to propose and vote on amendments next week
November 28, 2025 at 8:38 PM
We oppose the proposal to increase these transit fares, however we do support the addition of multi-day passes including airport fares for tourists.

Let's keep transit affordable

While visitors should be paying more to access our services since they don't pay property taxes, but many of the people using the airport bus are working service jobs in and around the airport, and should not have to pay over and beyond what somebody working anywhere else would pay

Not everything in the Fall Budget Adjustment is good for transit riders unfortunately

Administration is proposing increasing the fare for the 747 to the airport to $6.00, with a monthly fare cap increase from $90.00 to $108.00. This could mean an addition $216.00 per year!

✅Enhance DATS service to maintain our minimum accommodation rate

✅Fund weekend and off-peak safety attendants to make sure riders feel comfortable when fewer people are using our system

✅Make the Enhanced Cleaning Program permanent to keep our system clean
November 26, 2025 at 4:31 PM
At the start of December council will make amendments to the operating budget.

There are a few programs proposed for funding that we are supporting.

We want to see Council:

Now is the time to make sure that this project adequately prioritizes transit riders, with dedicated lanes and high-quality stations.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Student Transit Town Hall on Thursday!

It is always inspiring to hear from students and decision makers passionate about improving well being and safety on our public transit system.

Our engagement (yes we know there aren’t 2 B1s)
November 21, 2025 at 11:52 PM
Today we setup in the Students Union Building to talk about BRT!

We heard a lot of excitement about the project, and a lot of wishes for faster and more reliable transit on Whyte Avenue.

These projects, if funded, would contribute to modernizing our transit system, and making sure that transit in Edmonton can keep up with population and ridership growth. These are smart projects, that should all see funding in the upcoming fall budget adjustment.
November 18, 2025 at 6:37 PM
✅ Modernizing legacy applications

✅ Planning for the Windermere North Transit Centre

✅ Contribute to already funded programs
November 18, 2025 at 6:37 PM
TS has identified 6 investments that could be funded through the CPTF within the next year:

✅ Relocation of the ETS Command Centre

✅ Purchasing automated passenger counters for the LRT

✅ Upgrading our bus bike racks
November 18, 2025 at 6:37 PM
2026 will be the first (hopefully not last) year that the Canada Public Transit Fund Baseline stream will be in place. Edmonton could unlock up to $16.4 million in additional funding for transit projects through this stream, IF council commits to invest.

Today we setup at Coliseum LRT Station to talk to transit riders about the station design

riders can envision a better, more comfortable future for Coliseum Station, and the best part is, the city has millions of dollars available to put towards it through Expo Lands funding.

A team of students from the University of Alberta came to us with a proposal to bring transit decision-makers link Andrew Knack and students together to talk about student transit needs through a panel discussion and Q&A.

This fall, when council goes to adjust the city's capital and operating budgets, this city council will have an opportunity to show that they support transit riders by purchasing 25 new buses.
November 10, 2025 at 7:53 PM
We don't have enough buses to meet our minimum transit service standards. If we want to meaningfully improve service so that riders aren't left standing out in the snow, or without a bus to their neighbourhood, it is important that we grow our fleet.
November 10, 2025 at 7:53 PM
Did you know that over half of Edmonton's City Councillors had improved transit service in their election platforms?
