Scroll in the comments. You will find the dashboard. Also I asked the same question, that why so many sessions on the same truck and this was the reply "we were testing communication etc, making sure everything works as intended"

Hopefully in Summer 😅 I already think it is a progress. Until two days ago, I had only seen something like 750 kW with MCS connector

Unfortunately, Last year I missed the Demo of MCS at EVS 38 in Sweden, organized by Milence. So it is really great to see for the first time, the MCS session results.

Were you expecting similar charging numbers with MCS?

Truck 2:

Number of Sessions: 3
Total Energy Delivered: 314.4 kWh
Total Time: 33 mins
Av. Energy Delivered: 9.5 kWh/min
Start SOC: 40%
End SOC: 90%

Truck 1:

Number of Sessions: 2
Total Energy Delivered: 287.3 kWh
Total Time: 25 mins
Av. Energy Delivered: 11.5 kWh/min

What are your thoughts on this?

Do you see this solution scale up or do you have reservations about it related to feasibility, costs etc?

Let me know below. 👇

We usually talk about Megawatt Charging (MCS) for highways, which will have its place in the future.

But we are ignoring the low hanging fruit:

The Loading Dock.

I did an interview with IONITY Co-Founder, Wulf Schlachter, to understand use case of MCS.

🧮 How it works: (2/2)

Truck: Daimler eActros 600

In Current setup (250 kW):
• 250 kWh charged
• 200 km range added

In Upgraded setup (375 kW):
• 375 kWh charged
• 300 km range added

I wrote about eActros and why it is popular! 👇

⚡ Future Upgrade Plans

The hardware is ready for more:

• Increase the power to 3x 375 kW
• Use the full 500 A capacity of the cables

⚡ Charging Infrastructure

Provider: Shell - SBRS

Current Setup:
• 3x 250 kW power units
• 3x Dispenser
• 500 A liquid cooled cables (currently operating at 330 A)
• Length of cable: 7.5 - 9 m (assumption)

🚛 Electric Trucks

I saw two Volvo FM Electric trucks here. Assuming largest battery packs, here are the details:

• 540 kWh battery pack
• 0-100% in 2.5 hr (with 250 kW charging peak)
• 300 km range

I would love to hear your perspective. I am not perfect and could be wrong in my assessments, but your comments help move this debate forward and give it a clear picture.

If the answer is NO and we value our current work-life balance, then let's accept the reality.

Let's be humble about the trade-offs of two very different systems at play here.
January 13, 2026 at 8:50 PM
2. On Prices & Economics:

The extremely low prices of Chinese cars are partly a result of 3 years of ongoing deflation, which has resulted in layoffs and wage cuts across industry.

Are we willing to accept pay cuts for the "greater good" of EU economy?
bsky.app/profile/etec...
In 5 years, we will see Chinese cars all over the world. From the Middle East to Africa, EU to Mexico, Brazil to Korea.

But the reason why is darker than you think.

It didn't just start as "Global Ambition." It also started as Survival.

1. On Speed & Development:

Are we willing to do what it takes to match their speed? Are we going to work 50-60 hours a week as a standard?

Are we going to accept cars breaking down or having bugs to accelerate the speed of development?
January 13, 2026 at 8:50 PM
But here is the hard truth we need to accept: Mindlessly bashing Western OEMs isn't the answer. But neither is ignoring the reality.

We have to ask ourselves two critical questions:
January 13, 2026 at 8:50 PM
Now it pains me to see them changing goals, because in 2025 the EV sales bounced back in Germany up to 30% w/o subsidies.

I genuinely thought they have found the answers for consumers but now even I can't understand what powertrains to expect from them in future.
January 13, 2026 at 8:50 PM
The Western OEMs indeed lost their edge in the last few years, which is why I was really excited to see the amazing cars during the last year:

the BMW iX3 Neue Klasse, Mercedes AMG GT XX, CLA EQ, GLC EQ, and even the VW ID.7 which was a hit in the EU.
